Is Gentle Reads Fiction a blog for clean romances? Cozy mysteries?

There are many romances and mysteries that stick with gentle content. However, the official Clean & Wholesome Romance and Cozy Mystery categories on the book market make it fairly easy to find those kinds of books. It can be harder to tell ahead of time if the content in books in other genres will be gentle or not. In light of that, this blog will focus mostly (not only, but mostly) on categories other than genre romance and cozy mysteries.

So, what genres are featured here?

Titles on this blog will include a range of contemporary fiction, historical fiction, and vintage fiction (works first published three or more decades ago). You'll find literary fiction, Christmas reads, women's fiction, speculative fiction, and more.

The recommendations here will include adult and young adult titles as well as some children’s books that are great for families or for all ages in general. Also, this blog may occasionally feature narrative nonfiction and memoirs with stories that fans of gentle fiction reads may enjoy.

Are the books on this blog religious?

Be advised that "gentle reads" is not a euphemism for “Christian fiction” or "religious books," and the recommendations here are for general audiences. While some of the titles may be inspirational or contain elements of faith, they won’t be stories that are aimed on “preaching” to readers.
